A meeting of the NWFP Selection Board was held on Monday under the chairmanship of the NWFP chief secretary. The meeting was also attended by provincial additional chief secretary, senior member Board of Revenue, secretary Establishment and administrative secretaries concerned.

The following officers of various departments were recommended for promotion: They are: 32 officers from BS-17 to BPS-18 (schools and literacy department), three officers of PCS (EG) from BS-18 to BS-19 (establishment deptt), 11 officers of PCS (EG) from BS-17 to BS-18 (establishment deptt), three officers of PCS (SG) from BS-17 to BS-18 (establishment deptt), one assistant professor of dermatology (BS-18) to the post of associate professor of dermatology (BS-19) of the health dept, two assistant professors of ENT (BS-18) to the post of associate professors of ENT (BS-19) of the health department, three medical officers from (BS-19) to (BS-20) of the general cadre in the health department, 44 medical officers from BS-18 to BS-19 of the health department, one principal of the vocational institutes (boys) (industries and technical education deptt), and five assistant professors/heads of department (technical subjects) BS-18 GPI/GCT (industries and technical education deptt).
